Zapatista! blends powerful visual elements and evocative music from groups like Rage Against the Machine and Neil Young and Crazy Horse with the impassioned voices of Mayan and Zapatista leaders, including Zapatista military leader, Subcomandante Marcos. Additional commentary is provided by Noam Chomsky, Medea Benjamin, and Blase Bonpane, and is narrated by Edward James Olmos, Daryl Hannah, Geronimo Pratt (former Black Panther and political prisoner), and Mumia Abu-Jamal (former Black Panther, who reads narration over the phone from his death row prison cell).
