“This ain’t no picnic,” warn the promoters of Willie Nelson’s 10K race, mosey, and concert this Sunday. Sure nuff, because at picnics there ain’t no movies neither. World premieres, no less. After the race and the concert activities subside and the sun goes down, the brand-new 90-minute-long documentary Willie Nelson: Still Is Still Moving will screen. Produced by Thirteen/WNET in New York, the biographical film is the opening episode of the longtime PBS series American Masters set to air on October 2 (check local listings). The film features footage from Nelson’s recent concert tour, scenes of life on and off the bus, and performances by and interviews with Neil Young, Waylon Jennings, Ray Charles, Lyle Lovett, Dave Matthews, and Kinky Friedman. Admission is free to those in attendance at the concert or who just want to come see the movie.
