The E! Entertainment Network announced that it will produce a quarterly series with Leeza Gibbons Enterprises (LGE) to explore issues in the entertainment industry.

“Gibbons’ hard news reporting skills and insider’s knowledge of Hollywood will provide in-depth explorations of a variety of topics affecting not only those working in entertainment, but all consumers of popular culture,” E! press material states.

Interviews with stars and industry leaders promise to lead viewers behind the glamorous face of Hollywood to show how social and economic forces work to influence final products brought to screen.

The premiere installment is currently in production, set for an August debut. The first program in the series focuses on Hollywood’s obsession with youth and beauty. Future programs will examine sexism in Hollywood, as well as celebrity involvement with charity causes and the impact of this involvement on those charities.

“The issues we’re going to explore are not only significant to the entertainment community, but are also major issues in our society. They just aren’t being covered anywhere else on television,” Gibbons said.

Gibbons is host and executive producer of the syndicated talk show Leeza and also hosts The Teen Files, a series of syndicated specials directed to teens and their issues.
