You’ve got to hand it to Adult Swim. Their largely off-the-wall programming is hit or miss, but the promotions department must never sleep to keep their brand looking cool. Whether it’s the Singles Collection featuring buzz and prebuzz bands or the solid graphic design on everything they produce, the AS crew is on top of it. And the same goes for video games.
They’ve already tapped indie gaming luminaries such as Mark Essen and Vlambeer to create Flash games for their site (PipeDreamz and Dinosaur Zookeeper respectively), and now they’ve added Chevy Ray Johnston to the roster.
Chevy Ray (as he likes to shorten his name) has a distant connection to Austin in that he teamed up with local indie developer Adam Saltsman to create Flash Game Dojo, a site that offers basic instructions for those unfamiliar with scripting as well as chunks of code for more experienced game-makers to utilize as they wish.
But, let’s get to the time wasting portion of the blog. Check out the latest Adult Swim game from Chevy Ray, Fat Wizard. Protect a large egg in the middle of the screen with your magical powers while collecting foodstuffs to include in your omelette when the yoke finally hits the fan. The game is addictive and can be played in arcade-esque spurts.
Whoever voiced the wizard needs to get a raise.
