It kinda looks like the Atari logo, but not a star

I’ve covered the genius of Yoshio Ishii in this blog before. Be it his game of self-cooperation Cursor*10 that inspired this column all those years ago or the star-finding artistic experiments or the Hoshi Saga. I recommend you play all of those games first and then check out the newly released sixth-episode in the Hoshi Saga.

The genius of Hoshi Saga Ringoen (or Hoshi Saga 6) is that it requires almost no explanation. Every level puts your cursor in a new world that must be clicked, moved, and/or moused over in some unique way to reveal a star. I’ll admit that this sixth iteration is not quite as inspired as the first few, but Ishii still has tricks up those sleeves.

If you get stuck on Stage 65, I can talk you through it at gaming@austinchronicle.com. It took me a good long while to parse that one out.
