The Magic of Flight
1997, NR, 39 min.
Directed by Greg MacGillivray, Narrated by Tom Selleck, Voices by , Starring .
The large-screen movie starts off with magnificent shots of flying birds and the history of man’s early attempts to re-create their effortless flight. The concepts of thrust, gravity, and lift are ably demonstrated. Then the film turns its focus to the dizzying aerobatics of the Blue Angels, the flight demonstration squadron of the U.S. Navy. Cockpit shots and pilot testimonies aim for a you-are-there feel, but the so-called “magic” of the film dives into what seems like an extended-length trailer for one of the Blue Angels road shows.
