This new microcinema series will screen weekly at the Hideout and will be programmed by several organizations, including the Cinemaker Co-op, Blue Screen, the Rude Mechanicals, the Center for Young Cinema, and Houston’s Aurora Picture Show, which provides the first offering. Included in The Best of Aurora Picture Show: Vol. 1 are the shorts “One-Eyed Bum” by Andy Mann (1975), “Piano Piece #13 (for Nam June Paik)” with Sonic Youth by Chris Habib (1999), “Fax Attack” by Eric Saks (1992), “Suggested Photo Spots” by Melinda Stone (1996), “Cinderella” by Eileen Maxson (2002), “Web Dreamer” by Erik Adigard (1998), “Snack and Drink” by Bob Sabiston (1999), “La Tombola” by Ximena Cuevas (2001), “Safe Keeping” by Jenny Stark (2002), “The Morphology of Desire” by Robert Arnold (1998), “Over Above” by Art Jones (2001), and “Wüstenspringmaus” by Jim Finn (2002).
