What follows are the Chronicle‘s recommended Cine las Americas screenings, based on the pool of films that we’ve previewed as of press time. More than 100 films from countries throughout North, Central, South America, and the Caribbean – opening with Argentina’s Cama Adentro (Live-In Maid), on Wednesday, April 19 – will screen through Sunday, April 23, at the Hideout (617 Congress), the Metropolitan (901 Little Texas Ln.), and the Millennium Youth Entertainment Complex (1154 Hargrave). Noteworthy is the festival’s Emergencia youth-film competition on April 22 at the MYEC, which is free. For the full schedule and admission information, see www.cinelasamericas.org. For more coverage, see next week’s Chronicle.
