KLRU, The Austin Chronicle, and South by Southwest have teamed up for SXSW Presents, an independent film series airing Fridays at 10pm on Channel 18 (Time Warner Cable Channel 9). Hosted and co-produced by SXSW Film producer Matt Dentler, the second season of the series runs through Dec. 2. This week’s installment is a compilation of East Austin Stories, the video project that UT professor Andy Garrison started with his documentary class in 2001 (www.eastaustinstories.org). “Flying in the face of the popular wisdom that good fences make good neighbors, the East Austin Stories video project makes prying its modus operandi,” Chronicle contributor Kimberley Jones wrote in 2004. “The goal of the project is to give the Eastside community the chance to share its many stories.” For more information, see www.sxsw.com and www.klru.org.
