Do-Over! Taste of SXSW Showcase

There’s always the worry about the one that got away –that one movie that everybody was talking about, and you blew your one shot at it ’cause you were too busy rubbernecking at the Paramount, trying to get an eyeful of Joseph Gordon-Levitt (or whatever). Relax: The Alamo at the Ritz is giving you one more shot at it this Sunday, with repeat screenings of four festival favorites: Beeswax, Andrew Bujalski’s lovely tale of twin sisters at a crossroads; Anvil! The Story of Anvil, a music doc about the “demi-gods of Canadian metal”; Greg Mottola’s scrappy summer-love comedy Adventureland; and Ong Bak 2, a martial-arts actioner starring Tony Jaa (don’t be fooled – it’s actually a prequel). Tickets are open to the general public and run regular admission price. The showcase isn’t part of the regular SXSW lineup; in other words, your badge is no good here. For more info, check out www.originalalamo.com.

The Lineup:

Beeswax, 1:45pm;
Anvil! The Story of Anvil, 4:30;
Adventureland, 7:30;
Ong Bak 2, 10:10
