A Little Film Night is scheduled for this Sunday, at which time the
distinguished Super-8mm film champion Toni Treadway will present a workshop and screening
of excerpts of 8mm film works from the last six decades. Treadway is the co-founder of
the International Center (IC8) for 8mm Film, co-author with Bob Brodsky of the production
manual Super-8 in the Video Age, a specialist in film-to-tape transfers, and editor of the
newsletter B & T’s Little Film Notebook. Clearly one of the world’s foremost
authorities and promoters of the Super-8 film format, Treadway encourages its use by both
artist and amateur. Her visit to Austin is sponsored by the Austin Cinemaker Coop in
conjunction with CAGE Student Production Resource Center at the UT-RTF Dept. and the
AIVF-Austin Salon. A Little Film Night is scheduled for Sunday, June 1, 6-9pm at the
University of Texas, CMB, 4th Floor, Studio 4-D (use 3rd floor entrance); the $5

The next evening, Monday, June 2, the Cinemaker Coop will be
putting theory into practice as the group hosts its latest Super-8 mini-film
festival, the Reel of Whup-Ass. The festival features one-reel, in-camera edited films
pertaining to the whup-ass theme. Shows are at 8 & 10pm at the Ritz Lounge
