Odds & Sods Dept.: After all the Austin Film Society has done for you — the free screenings series, the Paramount premieres, the Texas Film Hall of Fame — now there’s something you can do for them. They’re seeking organized and motivated individuals “to assist with the overall administration of the Texas Filmmakers’ Production Fund” in a volunteer capacity. Responsibilities will include coordinating publicity, workshops, applications processing, and panel activities, as well as working closely with the TFPF senior coordinator, the AFS director of artists’ activities, applicants, and other media arts groups. Those with film production experience are preferred, and a 10-12-hour per-week commitment (including one full weekend in August) is all the dent it’ll put in your schedule. Interested? Send your résumé and cover letter to Elisabeth Sikes, Re: TFPF01 Senior Coordinator Position, 1901 E. 51st, Austin, TX 78723, or fax same to 322-5192, or by e-mail to elisabeth@austinfilm.org. And while we’re on the subject, the AFS is also seeking an internship/summer camp coordinator to work with the AFS director of artistic services during June and July’s media production camps. Again, it’s a 10-12-hours-per-week commitment, the position begins immediately, and it includes a $150 monthly stipend. Send cover letter and résumé to Re: Summer Camp Position, address as above… Super-8 maniacs the Cinemaker Co-op seem to launch a new fest with roughly the same frequency as downtown groundbreakings these days, but this one’s a biggie, and naturally they’ve sent out a call for entries.
