AUSTIN FILM SOCIETY “QT Quattro”: QT Quattro is the fourth go-round for this unique, only-in-Austin film festival in which Quentin Tarantino programs and presents 10 days of film screenings culled from his personal archives. The selections are as wide-ranging and as ungovernable as the man who chose them. Tarantino’s introduction to each film provides lots of colorful and insightful information as shares his wide knowledge and enthusiasm before joining the audience to watch the movie. Screenings begin at 8pm each evening (most screenings are double bills, some are triple bills), with midnighters on Fridays, all-nighters on Saturdays, and G-rated children’s matinees on Saturdays at 1pm. Thu (8/31): Spaghetti Westerns — Arizona Colt; They Call Me Hallelujah. Fri (9/1): Big Pimpin’ Friday: Triple Bill — The Mack; Saint Jack; The Chinese Mack Sat (9/2): Saturday Morning Film Club: Children’s Matinee (noon): Invasion of the Neptune Men. Good Ol’ Boys: Part 2 — Walking Tall; Walking Tall: Part Two; Walking Tall: Final Chapter; Macon County Line. Sun (9/3): Special Matinee Bonus — Go Go Mania. Hong Kong Sundays: Triple Bill — Dragon vs. Snakefist; Dragon vs. Needle of Death; Snake Fist in Eagle Shadow. Remaining single evening passes will be sold at the Alamo box office on the day of the show for $20, or $30 for Friday and Saturday nights. Sunday is a bonus night that folds the end of QT Quattro into the ongoing Hong Kong Sundays series at the Alamo. The event is co-sponsored by the The Austin Chronicle.
