My Date With Drew

Not reviewed at press time. Filmmaker Brian Herzlinger documents his quest to win a date with Drew Barrymore in 30 days or less and make a film about it on a $1,100 budget. Although this documentary sounds maddeningly self-serving in a careerist sort of way and creepily obsessed in stalker terms, the film just won the HBO Comedy Arts Festival’s audience award and is reported to be a deft piece of work.
