Lunafest 2006

Lunafest is a national touring festival of films by, for, and about women. This year’s winners cover a wide array of topics that address what it means to be a woman in the 21st century. In addition to providing national exposure for emerging women filmmakers, Lunafest also supports communities by donating a portion of the proceeds from the festival to the Breast Cancer Fund, as well as to local host organizations. This year’s presentation includes “Backseat Bingo” by Liz Blazer, “One Weekend a Month” by Eric Escobar, “Tahara” by Sara Rashad, “Blessing” by Suju Vijayan, “Twilight” by Victoria Gamburg, “Perfection” by Karen Lin, “Laying Down Arms” by Carol Schreder, and “Mabel’s Saga” by JoDee Samuelson. Also, filmmaker Suju Vijayan will attend as a special guest. For complete film descriptions see www.lunabar.com/community/lunafest.cfm?DocumentId=315.
