Here in Austin, autumn is more of an abstract concept than an actual season. A better barometer to determine how far along we are in our yearly trip around the sun is the start of the fall film festival season, which begins this week with the 28th annual Austin Gay & Lesbian International Film Festival. For his second year at aGLIFF, Program Director Jim Brunzell has carefully curated a lineup that mixes arthouse heavyweights with first-time filmmakers. What follows is just a sampling of the diverse array of cinema to be found this year, no matter what your gender identity.
