Leila
1996, NR, 102 min.
Directed by Dariush Mehrjui, Starring Leila Hatami, Ali Mosaffa, Jamileh Sheikhi.

Made by a UCLA grad who returned home to film The Cow in 1969, Leila returns the filmmaker to global cinemas. The film is a sad but beautiful observation of a deeply committed marriage torn asunder by the wife’s inability to have children, and the ramifications this has in Iranian society.
