By now we hope you’ve read Claudia Alarcón’s piece on Yard Bar in this week’s Food section, but with this week’s column, we wanted to draw special attention to the last paragraph.
In case you haven’t, here’s the tl;dr: Yard Bar is Kristin Heaney‘s brilliant combination of a dog park, restaurant, and bar. This mecca of Milkbones and honey ale is coming to Burnet Road this summer one way or another, but there’s a crowdfunding effort on Greenman to help raise money for the redevelopment: chairs, lighting, fans, heaters … in short, all the creature comforts.
In exchange for their pledges, backers will gain access to the best discounts on dog memberships, plus swag like koozies and stickers to start spreading the good word now. To date, 323 backers have jumped on board with almost $22,000 in support; with 17 days left in the campaign, we can imagine they’ll fetch quite a bit more before all is said and done.
