“Ain’t it a great day to be dead in Austin, Texas?” asked a tie-dyed Mayor Will Wynn of the zombie throng at Sunday’s Thrill the World event at the Long Center. Ten nations and 72 cities participated in the annual synchronized dance performance of Michael Jackson’s classic “Thriller,” but nobody brought it like Austin did, pulverizing the previous world record with 881 zombies strong (Gurnee, Ill., was Austin’s closest competitor at 334).
