As if men don’t already have enough trouble persuading the fairer sex into bed, here comes a group of twentysomething women who decide to go completely without men for 100 days. No talking, no flirting, no touching, and of course, no sex. The young women are the creators of a fanzine lovingly titled Biotch, who are in desperate need of cash to pay back debts incurred producing their fanzine and avoiding their monthly rent. The mastermind behind this idea, a friend in search of a Women’s Studies degree, offers them her $25,000 grant to get the ladies to swear off men for the duration. When one million dollars is offered to the first man who gets one of the young women to break her fast, hilarity ensues. Manfast features a quality cast including Jeremy Sisto (Six Feet Under) as the hunk down the hall, Eve Plumb (Jan Brady) as the Women’s Studies professor, and Erin Gray of Silver Spoons. This film is cleverly edited and supplies plentiful chuckles, while delivering some truthful insights into modern day love.
