The hour-long “In Light of Reverence” examines the conflict concerning the commercial and recreational use of sites deemed sacred by Native Americans. The P.O.V. film recounts the struggles of the Lakota in the Black Hills, the Hopi in Arizona, and the Wintu in California to protect their holy ground. Recent UT graduate Bennie Klain directed the short film “Yada Yada,” which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. His six-minute short encapsulates the sudden paradigm shifts that occurred as a result of 9/11.
