Somebody said spoof, somebody else said, get Lehmann, everybody figured producer Joel Silver and Willis couldn’t lose and guess what? They all rolled craps. The film begins as an affectionate return to the caper film with references to the genre’s ’60s era films. What’s really amazing is that no one seemed to stop and think that if the spoofs of the ’60s were frequently out-of-control disasters, then a ’90s spoof of a spoof could send ’em screamin’ for the exits. Save yourself.
