Haven’t made any Friday night plans yet? What’s wrong, you holding out for a hero? Why not cut loose at Cheer Up Charlie’s tonight? Because – and we don’t want to oversell the thing – this sounds like almost paradise.

After you hit the early show at aGLIFF (we dug The Secret Diaries of Anne Lister), you might want to scoot on over to Cheer Up Charlie’s, which will be playing host to – get this – Our Footloose Remake, a crowdsourced homage/parody/we-don’t-even-know-what to the indisputably awesome Eighties artifact Footloose.

So: 55 directors, shooting their own idiosyncratic remakes of Footloose, scene to scene, starring puppets, animated Rens, and live-action humans, too. Post-show, the watching party becomes a dance party.

You know what that means, right? People are totally going to be kicking off their Sunday shoes.
