This series of short comedy films from local and national filmmakers have been selected by members of Austin’s award-winning comedy troupe, the Latino Comedy Project, and members of Cine Las Americas. The films feature a wide range of filmmaking styles from different perspectives and all walks of life. Some of the films include, “Chancla,” a self-titled documentary about the San Marcos-based singing comedy duo Ranger Reading, a short film about a fictional baseball player struggling to shoot a commercial promoting literacy, a musical pilgrimage to a statue of Selena, and a New Yorker who’s a South American revolutionary in his own mind.
