• Today is officially Alamo Drafthouse Day in Austin, as the city celebrates the grand opening of the biggest Drafthouse yet: the new, 10-screen beast at Lakeline and 183. • Austin producer Chris Ohlson (The Happy Poet) has been chosen by the Sundance Institute for a stint in the Creative Producing Labs. His project, Pardon My Downfall, is the latest from the Zellner Bros.; read more about it on Indieweire.
• There’s still time to enter this year’s 48-Hour Film Festival, which will take place Aug, 16-18. Filmmaking teams “will be given a genre, a character, a prop, and a line of dialogue they must work into their film,” but from there, anything goes.
