So you wanna be in pictures? How about a new picture from an international filmmaker with an adoring Austin fanbase and a first name that puts us in mind of the tastiest flavor of Dorito snack chips around? (No, not Cool Ranch, ya doof.)
Nacho Vigalondo, the Fantastic Fest vet and director of Timecrimes and Extraterrestrial, will be filming a scene at the Alamo Drafthouse’s South Lamar theatre on Monday, Oct. 8, and he’s looking to fill the seats with extras to portray Fantastic Fest attendees. No pay, but meals are provided, and this will be an overnight, 12-hour shoot.

Austin filmmaker Steve DeGenarro‘s short film “First Date” recently took two prizes – Audience Favorite and First-Time Director – at the DC Shorts Film Festival, the largest short film festival on the East Coast. Proof positive he had the crowd in the palm of his hand? DeGenarro posted an audio video of the audience reaction, and it’s pretty hilarious.

Speaking of web series, Gal About Town Tolly Moseley is co-hosting a new series for YouTube’s Hungry channel. The Citysearch-produced show, Hungry In, is all about hopscotching around the country to profile cool eateries; Moseley serves as the gourmand-guide for the upcoming Austin ep. No word yet on when her show airs, but Tolly gets a little facetime in the preview below.
