If you’re a local not already possessing an almighty (and long sold-out) badge to Fantastic Fest, you’ve still got a few options. Such as: Sunday’s half-day of panels devoted to the future of 3D technology – a future so bright we had to wear shades for just about half the movies we saw this summer, it seemed.

Presented by Fantastic Fest, RealD and 3DFF, The Future of 3D event includes a presentation by Troublemaker Studios and several other industry presentations, and caps off with a reception at the 3D Lounge at the Highball. (Alas, the sneak preview of Avatar 3D footage doesn’t happen til Wedneseday.) Tickets run $75 for non badgeholders, and a mere $25 for students and Austin Film Society members. You can get ’em here.

And if that all sounds a little too gearhead for you, there are still tickets available to each of the four FF @ the Paramount Theatre premieres: Gentlemen Broncos, Zombieland, The Vampire’s Assistant, and Survival of the Dead. Go here for ticket info.
