We received a note from filmmaker Don Swaynos the other day. Speaking of his new feature Pictures of Superheroes, he writes, “I sort of accidentally released a teaser trailer online yesterday.” We love Swaynos and the whole Jollyville Pictures team, so his “whoops!” is our “cool!”

Pictures of Superheroes features a whole hot mess of Austin talent: Kerri Lendo, Shannon McCormick, John Merriman, Chris Doubek, Byron Brown, Sonny Carl Davis, Sam Eidson, Paul Gordon, and Andy Ritchie. Also on board is Oklahoma writer/director/actor Mark Potts, no stranger to Austin he, whose deadpan suburban comedies (Simmons on Vinyl, S&M Lawn Care) are a genre unto themselves. (And well worth seeking out.)
