Austin film score veterans ST 37 (Metropolis) turn their musical talent to this early. and rarely screened, Fritz Lang silent. The film was Lang’s first to achieve any real critical success, and shows the director’s flair for architectural foreboding and stylized compositions. The story is a three-part allegory about a woman’s effort to pry her lover from Death’s corporeal grasp.
