Something to get you in the mood...

Bummed you’re one of the dozen or so people in Austin who didn’t extra in the upcoming Slacker 2011? Here’s another chance to blend into the background of another Austin film: Andrew Bujalski’s Computer Chess is looking for extras. It helps if you rock a late-Seventies aesthetic.

Producer Houston King passed along this call for extras:

“Computer Chess” is the new movie from an award-winning filmmaker whom The New York Times has called “one of the most influential directors of the past decade.”

We’re currently looking for a large number of extras for a scene set in 1979. This is a terrific opportunity to experience a period piece on set and connect with other people who dig the Austin film scene, chess, and computer chess all while getting the chance to watch a movie being shot from in front of the camera!

Filming will take place in Austin in August / September and snacks, meals and good times will be provided for everyone.

If you’re interested in being in the movie, please e-mail your contact information and a photo of yourself to ComputerChessMovie@gmail.com so we can see if you fit the part!
