It’s easy to make a lousy courtroom drama, but this isn’t one of them, thankfully. Director Apted (well known for his documentary 28-Up and Sting’s Bring on the Night concert film) has somehow managed to take one of the most contrived plots I’ve ever seen and make it seem, if not original, then at least way above average.
