If you’re a film fan living in town, you are most likely aware of how blessed you are that the Austin Film Society exists to screen films you normally would not be able to see. They’ve been doing it for 30 years, and now it’s time to celebrate.

Tonight at Austin Studios, AFS pulls out all the stops with their Make Love Watch Party to commemorate the occasion. Featuring live DJs, raffle prizes, and a From Dusk Till Dawn-themed bar, the event is free for AFS members, and $30 if you’re not (why are you not a member yet? It’s quite easy to become one).

On hand will be some of Austin’s most famous film luminaries including (of course) Richard Linklater, his longtime editor Sandra Adair (who we profiled in this week’s issue), Andrew Bujalski, Paul Stekler, and many more. The crew at Rooster Teeth will set up a lounge for a touted “one-of-a-kind” experience, and Kat Candler will screen her new short “The Rusted” at the Blue Starlite following the affair.
