Recently, there have been more than a few hot takes on whether we have finally reached the saturation point on this new Golden Age of television. Is it possible that there is too much content on the small screen? I don’t know about that, but there does seem to be a new show on some odd channel every week or so. Thank goodness, then, for the programmers of the ATX TV Fest for coordinating premieres of new shows, and bringing together folks from past favorites. We’ve highlighted a couple of shows that we think should be on your radar, as well as picked a few events that are well worth your time. Hope you cleared your weekend calendar.

The ATX Television Festival runs June 9-12, at various venues Downtown. Visit www.atxfestival.com for the full schedule of events, and frequent austinchronicle.com/atx-television-festival all weekend for panel and event recaps, as well as photo galleries of your favorite small-screen stars.
