Yes, The Good Guys shoots in Dallas, not Austin, but we just can't resist a crouching-tiger Bradley Whitford (right).

Just a few short weeks after Belinda Acosta’s Chronicle cover story on Friday Night Lights wondered if Austin could become a sustainable center for television production, all signs point to yes. Okay, one sign.

Joe O’Connell just posted on his blog news that ABC has picked up new show My Generation, from Noah Hawley, who moved to Austin when his underrated cop dramedy The Unusuals wasn’t picked up for a second season.

So says Joe:

“It was called Generation Y until some boomer got ahold of it and retitled it My Generation for the Who’s song. The pilot was shot in Austin and it certainly appears the show will, too, since the story itself is set in Austin. This means the lovely Jaime King will be all over the place.”

But Austin’s getting some seriously steep competition: O’Connell also reports that two other network shows will shoot in Dallas this summer, Chase and Lone Star (which nabbed FNL graduate Adrianne Palicki), along with the already in production The Good Guys, starring Colin Hanks and Bradley Whitford.
