Angel Pedraza, who graduated from Reagan High this spring, has been announced as the first beneficiary of the Austin Film Society’s scholarship program, “awarded for demonstrated artistic potential, strength of character, and dedication to the art and craft of filmmaking.” Pedraza – who will attend the University of Texas’ Department of Radio, Television, and Film while double-majoring in philosophy – is a veteran of AFS’s After School Youth Film initiative. He will receive $3,000 toward tuition and a four-year AFS membership.
