aGLIFF Oscar Night Party presents a live broadcast of the 73rd AcademyAwards projected on the big screen. The activities begin at 6pm as Oscar party attendees will be greeted on the red carpet by a Joan Rivers-type personality (a special guest from Esther’s Follies) who will greet and critique attendees’ Oscar wear and then broadcast it live onto the theatre’s main screen. Local Oscar emcee Korey Coleman will entertain during the commercial breaks and there will also be a silent auction and giveaways. The night is a fundraiser for the Austin Gay & Lesbian International Film Festival’s new office fund. Doors open at 6pm, with the award ceremony starting at 7:30.
