Set in Mongolia, the movie tells the story of two children raised by a nurturing surrogate grandmother. A boy and a girl, everyone assumes they will grow up and marry but then the boy leaves for school and the girl marrries someone else. Twelve years later the boy returns for a visit, but his grandmother has died and the girl has a new family of her own. Life is not as simple as it once was.
