For over 30 years I have photographed protests at the Texas State Capitol but none matched the surreal scene of mass delusion that took place there on January 6. Attendees were required to wear masks in tight spaces, as well as photographers working in the space between the stage and audience. Dutifully I wore mine, but not surprisingly few fans did. However I was slightly relieved to find at least two people in the front also masked up on the Saturday afternoon of October 2. -
