According to a new report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Texas women employed full-time as wage or salaried workers in 2011 earned roughly 85% of what male workers earned.

Women in Texas saw median weekly earnings of $619, while men employed full-time in the state posted median weekly pay of $730. While the 2011 pay was a dip from 2010 – when women earned nearly 86% of what men earned – women’s earnings as a percentage of men’s earnings has increased steadily since 1997 and is well above the national average.
