ROMA Austin is ready to share its initial work on the Waller Creek District Master Plan and the urban designers want to hear from you.

A Wed. May 13th public workshop (see details below) sponsored by the Waller Creek Citizen Advisory Committee offers interested Austinites a chance to share thoughts on the future of the Waller Creek District.

Once the Waller Creek Tunnel is built, removing creekfront properties from the floodplain, the land will be ripe for redevelopment. The tunnel construction is funded and scheduled for 2010-2014. But there’s no money budgeted for improvements – such as a new walking and biking trail, and park improvements – that will make the whole area a positive urban amenity.

Thus the need for a master plan, and a community vision for the area. Show up, and chime in!
