Want to see some unique theater and donate to the Austin Humane Society at the same time? Look no further than the Wizard of Dogz, put on by Darren Peterson and his Circus Chickendog.

Back by popular demand, Peterson’s Chickendog adaptation of The Wizard of Oz will play two shows this weekend at the Dougherty Arts Center Theater, on Saturday and Sunday, April 21 and 22 at 1pm and 2:30pm. Tickets are $8 in advance ($10 at the door) and proceeds benefit the no-kill AHS. You can buy tickets here.

The show, we’re told, has it all – not only acrobatic dogs, but jugglers, musicians and, of course, Lauren, the performing Scarlet Macaw. What more could you ask for?
