City Council seeks applicants for Capital Metro Board

Members of the Austin City Council are seeking applicants to be considered for appointment to the Board of Directors of the Capital Metro Transportation Authority.

Deadline for applying is 5 p.m. Dec. 9.

An Austin City Council Capital Metro Board Nominations Subcommittee comprised of Mayor Lee Leffingwell, Mayor Pro Tem Mike Martinez and Council Member Chris Riley will review the applications, and then make a recommendation to the City Council on an individual to serve as the City of Austin-appointed community representative on the Capital Metro Board.

The Board is the governing body that sets policy concerning management, control and operation of Capital Metro. The selected individual will serve a three-year term and join Mayor Pro Tem Martinez and Council Member Riley on the eight-member board. [Ed. note: Martinez will serve as an appointee of the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, not city of Austin.]
