I’m sitting in a Capitol committee room awaiting the 1:15pm start of the House Elections Committee meeting, where they’ll be considering Senate Bill 362, the voter ID bill of Sen. Troy Fraser, R-Horseshoe Bay.
I’m going to assume if you’re reading this that you’ve followed our Lege coverage enough this session to know what voter ID is; if not, read our previous coverage of one of this session’s most hotly contested issues.
Already today, we’ve received press releases denouncing the partisan Republican push to require photo IDs from voters (in addition to their voter registration cards) from the Texas Democratic Party, the AFL-CIO, and Democrat-aligned Lone Star Project.
Come back here later; I hope to make a few blog postings. Or, if you have the time and patience, watch it yourself online (Live Stream 2).
UPDATE: Actually, any updates I will deliver will likely be over on our Twitter feed at http://twitter.com/Legeland
