Won't somebody think of the children?

After their plea to build outside of the city’s extra-territorial jurisdiction fell on deaf ears at City Council yesterday, for financial, legal, and environmental reasons (not to mention the fact fully-formed, Mueller-size developments propped up by silent investors don’t arrive on council’s doorstep fully formed, and oh, we need it passed this afternoon, thankyouverymuch), the folks at Villa Muse sent the stunt-driver around some hairpin curves in the whaaambulance: They sent out a press release saying “the future of the Austin music, film and videogame industries took a huge blow Thursday evening,” and with the city’s decision, “Villa Muse will enter negotiations with other cities in Texas who have courted the project in recent months.”

In the words of Eric Cartman, “screw you guys, I’m going home!”
