Central city station with pedestrian enhancements (Urban Design Associates)

This proposed Green Line station would lie between West 23rd and 24th streets on the east side of Guadalupe. The Drag’s vital pedestrian-oriented, mixed-use nature was born out of its immediate proximity to the Hyde Park streetcar line running on Guadalupe at the beginning of this century. A new northbound rail line will share the easternmost lane with automotive traffic. A southbound line and platform is proposed in the western traffic lane of San Antonio Street. The University Partners, in partnership with Capital Metro, have already retained Black and Vernooy Architects to propose traffic-calming measures and pedestrian enhancements for the area, including narrowing the existing lanes to encourage slower car speeds, and creating a tree-lined edge on the west side of Guadalupe.
