Election Poll Clerks and Election Night Workers Needed
Austin Travis County Clerk Dana DeBeauvoir today put out a final call for Election Day polling place clerks and election night workers.
The election process relies on the active participation of our citizenry, DeBeauvoir said today. Whether youre an early bird or a night owl, weve got a job for you.
DeBeauvoir said that Travis County has already recruited nearly 1,500 workers, but about 150 more are needed to carry out the various tasks required on Election Day and election night. Workers must be registered to vote in Travis County and will be paid an hourly stipend for assisting in the election process.
Having more people gives us a greater comfort level that well be able to manage the process efficiently, DeBeauvoir said.
Workers are needed in Travis County to perform the following tasks:
Election clerks work at polling places from am to 8pm
** Bilingual workers especially needed
Receiving Sub-Station Workers 50 workers are needed to work from 6pm to 10:30pm at one of five locations around the county to accept precinct supplies and equipment.
RSS locations include: Anderson High School, Travis High School, Covington Middle School, Dobie Middle School, OHenry Middle School
Central Counting Station workers 60 workers are needed to assist with processing ballots received at the Central Counting Station on election night. Must be available to work from 8pm through midnight at 5501 Airport Blvd.
