Between light and commuter rail, rebuilding I-35 and MoPac, adding HOV lanes to freeways throughout the region, and building SH 130 and other TTA projects, Central Texas is poised to spend at least $5 billion on major transportation infrastructure over the next 20 years. Finding that money is the challenge that's spawned the bitter contests between investments that has prevailed for more than a decade.
