So I’m complaining to my wife for the bazillionth time about how George W. Bush‘s presidency would never have happened if his last name weren’t “Bush.”

“Let’s face it,” I said, “if it weren’t for his family, he’d be a lower midlevel manager at some mediocre company somewhere.”

And then she hit the nail on the head: “You mean he’d be Steve Carell‘s character from The Office.”

“Oh good lord,” I moaned. “You’re right – Michael Scott is the president of the United States.”
