What began as the Occupy Wall Street protests and grew into a national movement made its local debut last week as protesters of all ages staged a peaceful assembly outside City Hall, drawing about 1,300 people by the night of Thursday, Oct. 6. The head count may have dwindled over the following days but certainly not the spirit of the “99 percent” who aim to reverse the trend of corporate dominance in economics and politics.
