TDH is all geared up for next week, when we’ll see the city budget proposal from Marc Ott, and City Council returns for a formal meeting on Thursday. Speaking of budget biz, the city released an updated schedule of budget hearings, which we’ve placed below the fold.

July 28: Overview of the proposed budget.

August 18: General Fund departments (including Public Safety, Parks and Recreation, and Austin Public Library).

August 25: Austin Energy, Austin Water Utility, Solid Waste Services and Transportation.

… And in vaguely related, entirely non-surprising news: This.

What the hell else is happening?

On the city calendar: A social service contract centered, special meeting of council’s Public Health and Human Services Committee was held in Council Chambers at City Hall, 301 W. Second, 10am.
